This was part of a larger renovation project. The home was built back in the 1700ís and had undergone updating throughout the years.† The new owners wanted to bring it into the current century while maintaining its rustic charm.
The Cabinets you see in the before pictures where refreshed and updated. The old laminate countertops were replaced with a combination of butcher block and slate. Old outdated appliances replaced with new state of the art Stainless Steel appliances and the old sink was updated with a soap-stone farmer style sink.
They had utilized an old folding table for many years in the center of the large room and it was time to take advantage of all that unused space.† A custom made center island with wet bar and storage space was built with a handsome butcher block top and similar bead board cabinetry to blend in with the existing woodwork.† Additional accent shelving on the sides of the island added additional eye catching elements to the renovation. The existing pine flooring was sanded and refinished with portions of it restored due to extensive chimney work.
This project was a delightful experience and the results speak for themselves.
